Man Accused Of Exposing Himself To Women On West County Trail

One of the victims chose the suspect from a lineup, according to the Sonoma County Sheriff's Office.

SONOMA COUNTY, CA — A Santa Rosa man was arrested Tuesday night on suspicion of exposing himself to women on the West County Trail in Forestville, according to the Sonoma County Sheriff's Office. The indecent exposures happened twice last weekend, Sgt. Spencer Crum said.
Deputies found the suspect Sunday but he escaped.

The sheriff's office issued a Nixle alert Monday morning and a citizen reported seeing a suspicious black Mercedes-Benz parked on Ross Station Road last weekend. The citizen photographed the vehicle's license plate and deputies used it to develop a photographic lineup of the owner, Crum said.

One of the indecent exposure victims picked a photo of Michael Rodd, 31, of Santa Rosa, from the lineup as the suspect. Rodd was arrested at his workplace in Forestville around 5 p.m. Tuesday on suspicion of three counts of indecent exposure and one count of evading arrest, Crum said.

Rodd was arrested in 2014 for indecent exposure in South Carolina but it appears from court records that he was not convicted. He is not on probation, parole or a registered sex offender, and it's unclear how long he has been in Sonoma County, Crum said.
