SONOMA COUNTY, CA — Two people suspected of drug trafficking in Santa Rosa and the surrounding areas were arrested last week on suspicion of felony child endangerment and multiple drug charges, police said.

The arrests of Juan Carlos Beltran-Granados and Belen Santos-Hernandez followed a months-long investigation into a local drug trafficking organization, Santa Rosa police Sgt. Kevin Naugle said.

Around 6:30 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 8, detectives detained Beltran-Granados and Santos-Hernandez at a residence in the 100 block of College Avenue in Santa Rosa. With a search warrant in hand, detectives combed the residence where it was alleged they found approximately five pounds of suspected methamphetamine, clean packaging materials, a digital scale, and approximately $4,000 in U.S. currency in their bedroom.

"Beltran-Granados and Santos-Hernandez shared their bedroom with two small children, ages 4 and 7," Naugle said. "The suspected methamphetamine was found in a place where the children could easily access."

Detectives then served another warrant in the 10 block of Allan Way in Rohnert Park where Beltran-Granados rented a room. It is alleged that detectives found approximately one pound of suspected cocaine, clean packaging materials, and a digital scale.

Beltran-Granados and Santos-Hernandez were booked into the Sonoma County Jail. In addition to felony child endangerment, they were each booked on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance for sale and possession of a narcotic for sale.

Although bail was set at $500,000 each, records showed they were no longer in custody this week.
