Officers searched the area and found Ingerson's unoccupied Hyundai sedan, which sustained heavy front-end damage, parked blocks away on Lassen Drive.

Officers located Ingerson nearby and arrested him after he tried to run away.

Police said Ingerson showed signs of being impaired, so they conducted a DUI investigation.

A preliminary reading showed he had a blood-alcohol content of .29 percent, well above the legal limit.
