Petaluma Man Crushed To Death By Machinery: Coroner

The Contra Costa County Coroner's Office has identified a man who was killed in an industrial accident earlier this month in Brentwood.

PETALUMA, CA — The Contra Costa County Coroner's Office has identified a man who was killed in an industrial accident earlier this month in Brentwood.

Telesforo Torres Lopez, 54, of Petaluma, was killed after being pinned by a large piece of machinery around 3:30 p.m. on May 5 in the 3900 block of Walnut Boulevard.

Medical personnel attempted life-saving measures, but Torres Lopez died at the scene.
Police said at the time that the death appeared to be an accident. Law enforcement and the California Division of Occupational Safety and Health were investigating.

A GoFundMe page has been set up for Torres Lopez's family at https://www.gofundme.com/f/hel... and had raised more than $16,000 as of Thursday to pay for funeral costs.

The GoFundMe page included a message from Torres Lopez's daughter, who described him as "a man that would always put the needs of others before his own. Family members and friends knew he was someone to count on. Someone that helped others without judgment and never expected anything in return."

She said, "He always worked very hard for his family to provide them with everything he could and he took his final breath doing so."
