Reckless Driving Pursuit Ends With DUI Arrest: Police
Gadiel Cortez-Diaz was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence, reckless driving, reckless evading and open alcohol containers.
PETALUMA, CA —A 21-year-old Petaluma man was arrested Wednesday night after reportedly leading officers on a reckless driving pursuit while under the influence of alcohol, police said.
Around 9:45 p.m., an officer observed a vehicle speeding near Petaluma Boulevard North and Skillman Lane, according to the Petaluma Police Department.
The driver, identified as Gadiel Cortez-Diaz, failed to yield and led officers on a brief chase into the unincorporated area of Petaluma before stopping on Cavanaugh Lane.

Cortez-Diaz reportedly showed signs of intoxication, according to the police. Open containers of alcohol were found inside the vehicle.
He was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence, reckless driving, reckless evading and possession of open alcohol containers.
