Sonoma County Man Dies After Car Smashes Into Home
The man had gotten out and was standing behind the vehicle, but had not taken the vehicle out of reverse when it ran him over, police said.
A man who was apparently crushed by his own vehicle after it crashed into a residence in Sonoma died on Saturday, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The collision was reported at about 8 p.m. in the 18500 block of Happy Lane, when a driver who was outside his vehicle was struck by the vehicle.
CHP's initial investigation indicated that the man had gotten out and was standing behind the vehicle, but had not taken the vehicle out of reverse. It backed into him, dragged him, and smashed into a house, pinning the man and severely injuring him.
