Teen Rams Into Railroad Crossing Gate, Cited For DUI And Theft: Police
The teenage driver had allegedly just been involved in a petty theft at a convenience store before he rammed into the arms.
PETALUMA, CA — A 17-year-old boy was arrested early Sunday morning in Petaluma on suspicion of theft and driving under the influence, police said.
Just after midnight at 12:01 a.m., officers arrived at the intersection of Washington and Lakeville streets where a vehicle had crashed into railroad crossing arms.
The teenage driver had allegedly just been involved in a petty theft at a convenience store before he rammed into the arms. Police allege he was driving with a blood alcohol concentration of between .01 and .05%, which is illegal for someone driving under the age of 21.

The teen had minor injuries and was transported to a local hospital for medical evaluation. He was then cited, given a court date and returned to his parents, police said.
