Trio Suspected In String Of Burglaries Around Sonoma County

They were arrested when deputies spotted a black Jeep Grand Cherokee they'd seen leaving the scene of one of the burglaries.

SONOMA COUNTY, CA — Three people were arrested in connection with a Sonoma County burglary spree when sheriff's deputies spotted a car believed to be linked to the crimes.

Deputies on patrol Thursday alerted detectives to a black Jeep Grand Cherokee linked to the string of burglaries that occurred over the past few weeks, the Sonoma County Sheriff's Office said.

Deputies remembered seeing the Jeep leave the scene of a burglary they were investigating. The victim's credit cards were stolen during the burglary and were being used at local stores.

Detectives conducted a stop on the Jeep as it left Santa Rosa Plaza mall and arrested three people: Anthony Miller, Britni Foy and Romel Smith.

Smith had a prior arrest in Sonoma County for similar offenses. The other two also had histories of burglaries and other theft-related crimes.

It is alleged they had the victim's credit cards in their possession. All three were booked into Sonoma County jail on suspicion of the burglary. Detectives were investigating their involvement in other crimes around the county.

Miller was released from custody with a citation to appear. Foy, who had an out-of-state warrant, was still behind bars pending a court hearing. Smith was also still in custody pending a hearing.
