The Friday Climate Strike coincides with the gathering of world leaders at the United Nations' annual climate conference in New York City.

SONOMA COUNTY, CA — Youth climate strikes were planned Friday in Santa Rosa and Sonoma. The group Sunrise Sonoma County is urging youth to walk out of schools, workplaces and homes to participate in a Die-In For Life at noon on campuses across the county and at Old Courthouse Square in Santa Rosa.

A School Strike For The Climate is planned for 1:30 p.m. at the Sonoma Plaza, 453 First St. E. in Sonoma.

At 5 p.m., a candlelight march is scheduled from Julliard Park to Old Courthouse Square, where a vigil will be held for human and non-human victims of the devastating wildfires in the county and the global victims of climate-related disasters.
