Letter to the Editor: Ivette Ricco Will Be Good For Pinole

Patch user David Smith weighs in with his views on the best choice for Pinole City Council.

by David Smith

Pinole is currently in a precarious situation.  Without passage of the Utility Users Tax we have heard the word “bankruptcy” mentioned as a possibility.  The Redevelopment Agency is gone.  We are in need of leadership who can think through these challenges and craft realistic, long-term solutions.  My choice for Pinole City Council is Ivette Ricco.

Through her volunteer work Ivette Ricco has already demonstrated the ability to enhance Pinole.   The list of her accomplishments is lengthy: Save the Swim Center, help at the Bear Claw, cleaning up the “ugly green fence” and more.

This is exactly the type of Council Member we need: a hardworking and passionate person with a proven track record and some positive ideas for our uncertain future.   Please see http://ivettericco.wordpress.com and read her economic development plan.

I am an Old Town Pinole resident and business owner and want to see Pinole not just survive but thrive in the coming years.  Please vote for the future: vote for Ivette Ricco!
