The Week Ahead: Bay Bridge Closure, Parks Meeting

The meeting of the Pinole Hercules East Bay Regional Park District Joint Powers Authority has been changed to Wednesday afternoon. The original meeting date was Tuesday afternoon. The meeting begins at 2 p.m. at Pinole City Hall, 2131 Pear St.

The Bay Bridge, in operation since 1936, will close for good at 8 p.m. Wednesday. The new eastern span is scheduled to open at 5 a.m. the following Tuesday. That means they'll be no trans-bay roadway from Oakland to San Francisco for five days.

The Pinole Farmers Market has its weekly showcase from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the corner of Tennant and San Pablo avenues.
