Assistance League Diablo Valley’s Operation School Bell Hails Return of Walnut Creek Rotary
When community-minded organizations pool their resources in support of our most treasured asset, our youth, everyone in the community wins!

Assistance League® Diablo Valley’s Operation School Bell®-Clothing is a nationally acclaimed, hands-on philanthropic program that has served the local community since 1994. Each year, students in grades K-12 receive new clothes and supplies, all of which contribute to improved self-esteem, citizenship and academic performance of the recipients.
Since 2006, Assistance League Diablo Valley has forged a Community Partners component, where employee volunteers from local businesses, corporations and civic organizations become hands-on involved and contribute financially to several of its philanthropic programs. On September 29, Community Partners from Walnut Creek Rotary arrived at Assistance League Annex, a facility that Rotary volunteers had previously renovated, to fill clothing bags designated for Operation School Bell recipients in the community.
In a mere two hours, these energetic gamechangers placed six pairs of socks, six pairs of underwear, one sweatshirt, two pairs of pants for boys or one pair of pants and one skort (upon request) for the girls, and three white, collared shirts into 129 reusable bags. A transport then arrived for distribution to the eager and appreciative schoolchildren attending Foothill Elementary School (GO, PIRATES!) in the Pittsburg Unified School District.
