Assistance League Diablo Valley Welcomes Matt Hulse, Executive Director, Contra Costa Senior Legal Services
CCSLS provides free legal services that improve seniors' quality of life.

Prior to the October 5 Assistance League® Regular Meeting, Chapter President Christine Zepp and Community Needs Programs VC Andrea Gleason introduced Matt Hulse, Executive Director of Contra Costa Senior Legal Services. For over 40 years, CCSLS has been dedicated to protecting the rights of county residents aged 60 and older without regard to income or citizenship status. Specifically, CCSLS provides free legal services that improve the quality of life for clients by assisting in such areas as preservation of housing, prevention of abuse, and planning for incapacity.
With the help of 50 volunteers, Hulse’s organizing of clinics, small fairs and education opportunities further support Contra Costa County senior citizenry. Likewise, he excels in fundraising and team development. Ever the realist, Hulse acknowledges such challenges as networking when confronting elder abuse, landlord abuse, low sources of income, and scams. Eventually, however, these challenges are replaced with solutions.
Mr. Hulse concluded his energetic and engaging presentation with a sincere thank-you and, not surprisingly, a resurgence of energy in preparation for another speaking engagement later that day. Thank you, Mr. Hulse.
