Car Drives Off Parking Garage In Contra Costa County: Police

PLEASANT HILL, CA — An intoxicated motorist drove off the second story of a parking garage recently in downtown Pleasant Hill, leaving the car completely verticle against the edge of the garage, police said.

The incident occurred around 4 a.m. Sunday and the motorist was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence, according to police, who said no one was seriously hurt and the vehicle was towed.

“Please, designate a sober driver, use ride share or public transportation if you are planning on consuming alcohol,” the Pleasant Hill Police Department said in a social media post about the crash. “Again, everyone involved here was extremely lucky there were no serious injuries.”
