Community Service Day - Were You There, Too?
Over 1,000 people rolled up their sleeves and helped make Pleasant Hill a better place on Sept. 22. Where you there? Share your story and photos.
For the eighth year, the citizens of Pleasant Hill showed that they are proud of their city by rolling up their sleeves and giving up a Saturday in September to help clean up a school, clean up books in the library, pull some weeds or help fix up a bike for donation.Â
The eighth annual Community Service Day, created by Vice Mayor Michael Harris and sponsored by the Civic Action Commission, has grown from a relatively modest effort over the years to one that takes in virtually every school in town, and many other sites as well. Overall, 22 different locales got some Pleasant Hill love that day.Â
Patch was there to grab some video of a few of the participants who helped make it happen. Were you there, too? Did you get any photos or have an experience you want to share? Tell us in the comments, and post your photos in our gallery.Â
