• Robbery during used car sale led to chaotic police call (berkeleyscanner.com) — A Pleasant Hill resident was identified by Berkeley police as a suspect in a chaotic confrontation tied to a used-car sale that ended with a crash into an AC Transit bus. Investigators say the man allegedly pointed a gun during a dispute over a white Honda with a fake ID number. No charges have been filed as authorities continue sorting out the conflicting accounts. 
• You wouldn't believe what a country musician and friends went through to save trapped animals in a barn (pennlive.com) — Pleasant Hill readers may recognize their own fire department in a dramatic barn rescue involving country musician Tayler Holder, his girlfriend, and a friend, who saved trapped animals before crews arrived. The trio rushed into a burning family barn, pulled goats and a piglet to safety, and extinguished the flames themselves, drawing widespread online praise for their quick action and courage.
