Constantino Scores 40, Hawks Win
Las Positas women rally past ARC; Mulumba, Cavness dominate inside

Kierstin Constantino continued her sensational season with 40 points as the Las Positas women’s basketball team rallied past host American River 97-91 on Tuesday, Dec. 5.
Constantino, a sophomore guard out of Lathrop High, is No. 2 in the state in scoring at 27.3 points a game. The Hawks’ Joyce Mulumba and Monique Cavness top the state in rebounding. Mulumba has 23.3 boards a game, and Cavness is averaging 22.5.
Las Positas (2-6) erased a 44-39 halftime deficit with a typically strong finish. The Hawks outscored ARC 27-20 in the fourth quarter, an impressive effort considering all five LPC starters logged 40 minutes.
Constantino was 9 for 21 (43 percent) from 3-point range, with six rebounds, three assists and a steal.
Cavness amassed 24 rebounds, 17 points, three assists and two steals. Kyshanti King also had a double-double with 16 points and 10 rebounds, along with five steals and four assists.
Rayna Manu added 19 points and five rebounds. Mulumba had a massive haul of 25 rebounds.
