Costco Reveals Summer Opening For New Tri-Valley Store
After seven years of waiting, Costco plans to welcome customers to its Pleasanton store in the coming weeks. Here's what to know.

PLEASANTON, CA — Costco's long-awaited arrival in Pleasanton is on the horizon after the company formally revealed the upcoming openings for its newest stores this summer.
As SFGate reports, city leaders approved plans to build a Costco at Johnson Drive and Stoneridge Drive in 2017. The project navigated multiple delays, including a since-dismissed lawsuit filed by a group that argued the store's traffic and environmental impacts had not been thoroughly considered.
According to The Independent, the final price tag for the project jumped from $21.5 million to $34 million before construction broke ground last year. The Independent reports the completed store will span nearly 160,000 square feet, with on-site parking for more than 700 vehicles and a gas station equipped with 20 pumps.
