PLEASANTON, CA — Power lines were down Wednesday morning on Dublin Canyon Road in Pleasanton, and authorities said traffic was closed in the area.

Power lines were downed between Foothill and Schaefer Ranch roads, the California Highway Patrol tweeted.

"No through traffic at this time," CHP said.

The patrol later said the closure was expected to last six to eight hours as crews replace power poles and lines.

"Please avoid Dublin Canyon Road. Thank you for your patience," the patrol said.

Alameda County firefighters were called for power lines down in that area just before 5 a.m., according to the PulsePoint phone app.

Power was out in the area as of 7 a.m.
