Eleventh heaven! Hawks Win Again!
Las Positas women's volleyball extends streak with sweep of Skyline

The Las Positas women’s volleyball team made it 11 wins in a row by breezing past Skyline 3-0 on Wednesday, Oct. 1. The scores were 25-13, 25-19, 25-14.
“The Hawks were in control from start to finish,” said LPC head coach Jamie Hadenfeldt, whose team will travel to Ohlone in a conference cross-over match on Wednesday, Oct. 8 before opening play in the Coast-North at tough Cabrillo on Oct. 15.
Both Las Positas and Cabrillo entered the week at 13-4 in nononconference play. Cabrillo was No. 18 in the CCCWVCA Top 25 Rankings (Sept. 29), while Las Positas was in the Best of the Rest.
Las Positas got an immediate boost with the return of sophomore middle hitter Zepora Tia, who had seven kills on 13 swings with no errors, hitting over .500. Ainsley Wade, a sophomore outside hitter, paced the offense with 16 kills, and freshman sensation Madi Huddleston added 13 kills in another strong performance. Sophomore setter Jade Dancel had a team-high 23 assists, and Camille Craighead, a sophomore setter, tacked on 15 assists.
“The match also provided an opportunity for several players to gain invaluable court time,” Hadenfeldt stated. “The team’s confidence and energy remain high as the Hawks prepare to open conference play.”
