Missing Hiker & Dog Found
Police say they found the Oakland resident and his dog, who were missing in Ohlone Wilderness Regional Preserve since Saturday.

SUNOL, CA —A hiker and his dog missing from Sunol Regional Wilderness since Saturday were found Monday, an East Bay Regional Park District lieutenant told Patch.
A man and his dog, who were reported missing in the Sunol-Ohlone Wilderness Regional Preserve Saturday, were found Monday in good health at around 12:15 p.m. near the San Antonio Reservoir off of the marked trails, EBRPD Lt. Patrick Brookens said. The pair were located by employees of the San Antonio Reservoir.
Stecher started hiking Friday morning from Sunol Regional Wilderness, and did not arrive at Del Valle Regional Park for his designated pickup Saturday afternoon, authorities said.

On Saturday, an extensive search was conducted by personnel from the East Bay Regional Park District Police and Fire departments, the Alameda County Fire Department, the Alameda County Sheriff’s Office Search and Rescue Unit, the East Bay Regional Park District Search and Rescue Unit, CalFire, and the California Highway Patrol, but the man and his dog were not located until Monday.
