The spill closed multiple lanes on the busy highway during the morning rush hour.

PLEASANTON, CA — A gravel spill from a truck blocked multiple lanes of westbound Interstate Highway 580 in Pleasanton Wednesday morning, according to the California Highway Patrol. The spill was reported shortly before 6:45 a.m. on westbound Highway 580 near the Hopyard Road off-ramp.
The gravel was about 2 inches deep on the highway and blocked the two right lanes and the off-ramp, CHP Officer Kevin Bartlett said. Cleanup crews were able to clear the roadway and the lanes reopened by about 8:15 a.m., Bartlett said.
