Las Positas Men's Soccer Makes It Three In A Row
Surging Hawks upend host Monterey 4-0; LPC women also on a roll

The Las Positas men’s soccer team went on the road to notch its third consecutive win, upending Monterey Peninsula 4-0 on Monday, Oct. 30.
Mayolo Baez Marchel, a freshman midfielder out of Granada High, led the way with two goals.
The surging Hawks (11-6-2, 5-4-1) have outscored their past three opponents a combined 11-1, with three games to go in the regular season and a playoff berth within reach.
The Hawks capped last week with a clutch 3-0 triumph over district sister school Chabot on Friday, Oct. 27 in Livermore.
Eamon Fahkri, Colin Miller and Jordan Minor scored for the Hawks in the Coast-South Conference battle. Those with assists against Chabot were Edwin Zabala, Jayden Nguyen and Ryan Hoopes.
Las Positas also beat visiting City College of San Francisco 4-1 on Tuesday, Oct. 24, on goals by Zabala, Lenni Hertwig, Fahkri and Adrian Denoncourt.
WOMEN’S SOCCER
The Las Positas women’s soccer team extended its unbeaten streak to nine (6-0-3) with a clutch 2-1 triumph over Canada on Friday, Oct. 27 in the Coast-North Conference.
The Hawks are in position to host a playoff game.
Grace Toney gave the Hawks a 1-0 lead in the fifth minute on a free kick, and Kaitlyn Lemus made it 2-0 in the 65th minute off a Irie O’Donnell assist on another free kick. The Hawks improved to 9-2-6 overall and 5-0-3 in conference.
