Pleasanton To Approve $1.2M Storm Drain Project On Puri Court
The contract aims to reduce flooding on Puri Court with new 48-inch pipe and culvert installation
PLEASANTON, CA — The Pleasanton City Council is set to approve a $1.2 million contract for major drain improvements on Puri Court, an area that suffered repeated flood damage during heavy storms in 2017 and 2023. The item is on the Consent Calendar for the council's Tuesday meeting.
The contract will replace an outdated 24 to 30-inch storm drain pipes with a larger 48-inch reinforced concrete pipe and a custom-sized box culvert to increase flow capacity and reduce future flood risk. Construction is set to begin this summer, and hopes to complete before the next rainy season in the winter.
The contract was given to DPI, Inc. of Livermore, which submitted a bid of just over $1.04 million, nearly 20% below the city engineer's estimate.
