Pleasanton Downtown Association Names New Director

PLEASANTON, CA — Pleasanton native Gabrielle Welk will take over as the new executive director of the Pleasanton Downtown Association, the organization announced Tuesday. She begins her new role March 17.

Welk has served for four years as the PDA's events director. Before that, she worked in the special projects and human resources division of Taylor Farms, and as a project management support specialist for the Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company.

Welk holds a bachelor's degree in communication from UC Santa Barbara and a professional and continuing education certificate in business law from UC Santa Barbara.

“Gabi brings incredible enthusiasm and strong relationships to this position," PDA Board President Angel Moore said in a statement. “She is excited about ushering in the next season of the PDA and continuing the great work this organization has always done. As a Board, we feel confident in our hiring decision and are excited to support Gabi and the PDA every step of the way.”

“I am deeply honored to be given the opportunity to continue serving the Pleasanton Downtown Association and its community,” Welk said in a statement. “I look forward to leveraging my four years of experience with the organization to further our mission to develop and promote a vibrant downtown. This is an exciting time for the PDA, and I am prepared to lead the organization into a new era of innovation and impact. Being born and raised here, I am proud to have called Pleasanton home and am excited for what is to come.”

Livermore Downtown Inc. also named a new director. Former LDI Marketing and Operations Director Kara Klotchman also starts her new role March 17.
