PLEASANTON, CA — The Kohl’s at the Metro 580 shopping center in Pleasanton will close Saturday, the store announced on its website. In January, the chain announced the closure of 27 underperforming stores, including in Pleasanton and Fremont.

“While Kohl's continues to believe in the health and strength of its profitable store base, these specific locations were underperforming stores,” Kohl’s said in a statement. “All associates have been informed, and offered a competitive severance package or the ability to apply to other open roles at Kohl's. Kohl's thanks our associates for their work and is working to support our associates during this transition.”

10 stores in California are also slated to close, including locations in Napa, Mountain View, and San Rafael. The chain also said it plans to close its E-commerce Fulfillment Center in San Bernardino.
Kohl’s sales declined 7.2% over the course of 2024, according to USA Today. It will still have over 1,120 stores following the closure.
