PLEASANTON, CA — The City of Pleasanton is facing a $10 million annual budget deficit. While approximately $3 million of internal cuts have been identified as of March 6, $7 million in cuts still need to be identified. For the sake of transparency and community participation, the city has taken several steps, including an independent financial assessment, hiring an actuarial firm for recommendations, and hosting a Budget Town Hall.

The city has also launched an online budget tool that provides information and solicits community feedback. Visitors can watch a video presentation of the Town Hall, and material outlining potential reductions, then provide input about what they think could lead to cost savings or revenue generation.

The tool will remain open through March 24.
