Pleasanton Man Accused Of Snatching Winning Lottery Ticket: Report

A Pleasanton man has been charged with grand theft for allegedly snatching away a winning scratch ticket and cashing it.

PLEASANTON, CA — A Pleasanton man was charged with grand theft for allegedly snatching a winning lottery ticket from its owner and cashing it, KTVU reported.

The victim purchased a scratch-off ticket worth $1000 in September 2023 from a Raley’s at 5420 Sunol Boulevard, according to Alameda County District Attorney charging documents. 31-year-old Anthony White overheard the victim excitedly discussing her win, and allegedly snatched the ticket out of their hands and took off on a skateboard.

The victim reportedly was able to reclaim the money.
