Pleasanton Police Seek Information On 2023 Stabbing

Police say they received an anonymous tip on the stabbing that killed a 32-year-old man last May, but more evidence is needed.

PLEASANTON, CA — The Pleasanton Police Department is asking for community help investigating a fatal stabbing inside a Pleasanton residence in May 2023.

On the morning of May 1, Pleasanton police found 32-year-old Edevion White stabbed following an attempted robbery at an apartment on the 5700 block of Owens Drive. Suspects reported two masked suspects running from the scene of the crime. White was originally from Tennessee, but lived at the apartment where he was found, police said.

Police later said they believe that the suspects and White knew each other. White’s girlfriend said that one of the masked men held her captive while another one attacked her boyfriend, according to a report in The East Bay Times.

Pleasanton detectives recently received an anonymous tip providing “important insights” into the case, but say further evidence is needed to corroborate the information and advance the investigation.
