Pleasanton Walmart Neighborhood Market Closing
The supermarket on Santa Rita Road and its pharmacy will close in October, Walmart confirmed.

PLEASANTON, CA — The Walmart Neighborhood Market on 3112 Santa Rita Road in Pleasanton will close Oct. 2, a Walmart representative confirmed to Patch. The store's pharmacy will also close.
Walmart spokesperson Anne Hatfield did not provide a reason for the store's closing, though she did say that "it's important to point out that we have three Walmart stores within eight miles of this location - the next closest store is one mile away," suggesting possible over saturation. There is a full-service Walmart in Livermore, and a newly remodeled Neighborhood Market in San Ramon.
Roughly 90 employees work in Pleasanton, and they are eligible to transfer to another store, Hatfield said.
