Pleasanton Wants More Tobacco Regulation, Survey Finds
The Pleasanton City Council is scheduled to discuss a tobacco retail ordinance at Tuesday's meeting.
PLEASANTON, CA — A group aiming to protect Pleasanton's youth from tobacco use released the results of a survey of how respondents feel about options for addressing the issue.
The Pleasanton-Coalition for Health Against Tobacco said 90 percent of respondents supported the adoption of tobacco retail licenses for retailers who want to sell tobacco.
Eighty-seven percent said they wanted the sale of all flavored tobacco products restricted.

Eighty percent said they want restrictions on the sale of small packages of tobacco, such as singles, and 73 percent of respondents expressed support for minimum pricing guidelines.
Respondents totaled 636 people and 78 percent were Pleasanton residents.

Tuesday's Pleasanton City Council meeting will include a discussion of a tobacco retail ordinance. The meeting starts at 7 p.m. in the council chambers located at 200 Old Bernal Ave.
