PLEASANTON, CA — The Bank of America branch at 337 Main Street is closing and merging with another branch on Stoneridge Drive, a corporate spokesperson confirmed.

The branch was closed from the start of the pandemic in March 2020 until December 2022, but has not seen enough customer traffic since reopening, Bank of America Senior Vice President of Marketing and Global Affairs Colleen Haggerty told Patch. The branch will close Aug. 20, 2024.

“Today, people use digital banking more than ever for their everyday financial needs, and come into financial centers for more complex transactions or discussions about their finances,” she wrote in an email. “So we have been adjusting our retail network where centers are located in close proximity to one another, or where client traffic has diminished significantly.”

All employees are being transferred to nearby branches, Haggerty said. In the meantime, branches remain open at 6005 Stoneridge Drive, 4250 Dublin Boulevard, and 7496 Dublin Boulevard.

Bank of America is closing many branches around the Bay Area for similar reasons, the San Francisco Business Times reported. See here for a full list.
