SUNOL, CA — State Route 84 has reopened after a crash that affected power lines Tuesday night forced the roadway to close in Sunol, authorities said Wednesday.

State Route 84 was closed in both directions from Interstate 680 to Main Street. Pleasanton-Sunol Road was closed from Paloma Way to Koopman Road, the California Highway Patrol tweeted Wednesday morning.

CHP logs showed a fiery crash was reported around 10 p.m. Tuesday. Drivers were advised in a Sig Alert to use alternate routes just before midnight. Around 2:15 a.m., authorities said to expect an extended closure.
