Tecle Turns Two Hat Tricks For Las Positas

Former Ballistic United player tied atop the state in scoring; Hawks rout Ohlone

Freshman Saul Tecle notched a hat trick for the second straight match, and the Las Positas men’s soccer team walloped visiting Ohlone 4-0 on Oct. 8 in Coast Conference play on Tuesday, Oct. 8.

Tecle, a Ballistic United product, is tied atop the state in scoring with 11 goals and third in points with 23. He is the clear leader in goals in the Coast-South.
Tecle also had a hat trick in a 4-4 draw against visiting Foothill on Friday, Oct. 8. in the Coast-South. Las Positas head coach Andy Cumbo gives his young scorer high marks.
“He puts himself and gets himself into great positions on the field. He’s a key player for us in our attack right now,” Cumbo said of Tecle.
The Hawks are 7-2-2 overall and 1-1-1 in conference.
Frank Hinostraza also scored against Ohlone, and Mark Sorensen and Connor McGinley had assists.
In a wild one against Foothill, Tecle and Hinostraza scored goals in the 80th and 85th minutes to erase a 4-2 deficit and salvage a point. Arteen Arianmanesh and The Hinostraza had assists on Tecle’s goal in the 80th minute. Arianmanesh assisted Hinostraza in the 85th minute.
Hinostraza is No. 2 on the team with 16 points (6 goals, 4 assists).
The Hawks will host Evergreen Valley on Friday, Oct. 11 (6:30 pm).
