Ramona Motorcyclist Killed In Crash With Car Near Golden Acorn Casino

The motorcyclist was ejected onto the roadway and died due to his injuries, according to the CHP.

CAMPO, CA — A motorcyclist from Ramona was killed in a crash in southeastern San Diego County, authorities said.

The crash happened around 5:45 p.m. Monday on Old Highway 80 near Church Road in Campo, according to the California Highway Patrol.

A woman, 78, driving a 2014 Toyota Corolla was traveling southbound on the highway when she began to turn left into Golden Acorn Casino, Officer Jared Grieshaber said. A man, 54, riding northbound on a 2022 Harley Davidson Road Glide struck the front of the Toyota.

The motorcyclist was ejected onto the roadway and died due to his injuries, Grieshaber said. The driver of the car, who was from Imperial, suffered minor injuries and was taken to Sharp Memorial Hospital.

The crash remains under investigation. Authorities do not believe drugs or alcohol were factors in the crash.
