Vehicle Slams Power Pole, Crashes Down Embankment In Trabuco Canyon

The crash prompted firefighters to spring into action, initiating a low-angle rope rescue to free the driver trapped inside of the car.

TRABUCO CANYON, CA — A driver was rescued from their car after it crashed through a power pole and drove off the side of an embankment in Trabuco Canyon, authorities said.

The crash was reported the night of Saturday, Feb. 1 on Live Oak Canyon Road, the Orange County Fire Authority reported.

According to firefighters, the car drove off the side of the road, trapping the driver inside.

Firefighters quickly executed a low-angle rope rescue and were able to successfully rescue the driver, who was taken to a nearby hospital. The person's name and current status was not immediately known.
