Blotter: Burglaries, Stolen Vehicles

The following information was supplied by the Redondo Beach Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

In addition to the on June 2, the investigated burglaries—commercial, residential and vehicle—and a couple of car thefts, according to the department's Part I crime recap covering May 29 through last Friday.

Commercial burglaries

Someone stole a television and a pair of sunglasses from a business in the 1600 block of South Pacific Coast Highway in Riviera Village at some point between 4:30 p.m. Thursday and 11 a.m. Friday.

On June 3 between 9:45 a.m. and 10:20 a.m., someone entered an office in the 100 block of Torrance Boulevard in South Redondo Beach via unknown means. The thief stole cash and a deposit box.

Residential burglaries

A would-be burglar attempted to break into a home in the 2000 block of Ruhland Avenue in North Redondo Beach between 3 p.m. June 2 and 1:30 a.m. June 3 via unknown means, damaging the door frame in the process. Nevertheless, no loss was reported.

On June 4 between 9 a.m. and 2:45 p.m., someone removed a plastic fence and crawled through a dog door to break into a home in the 200 block of Avenue C. The burglar stole a pearl ring, a Nikon camera, a gym bag, a MacBook and some jewelry.

A resident in the 500 block of the Esplanade lost an IBM laptop, Ray Ban sunglasses and some medication after someone broke into a secured garage at some point between June 1 and June 2 and took the items from the 2008 Mercedes C350 parked inside.

Vehicle burglaries

A golf bag containing clubs was stolen from a 2006 Land Rover parked in the 1600 block of Massena on June 3. The thief entered the vehicle "via bodily force to (the) rear hatch."

A thief entered a 2002 BMW 325 in the 500 block of the Esplanade between 9 p.m. May 29 and 1 p.m. May 30 and stole a GPS unit, a flashlight and a pair of prescription sunglasses.

A burglar used a lock punch to break into a 1999 Cadillac Escalade parked in the parking lot of in North Redondo Beach between 12:45 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. on May 30 and steal a briefcase, gym bag and the car's third-row seat.

Stolen vehicles

A blue 1984 Toyota Camry with license No. 1KRT358 was stolen from the 2900 block of Blaisdell Avenue between 7 p.m. last Monday and 7:30 a.m. Tuesday.

The Los Angeles Police Department's Harbor Division on May 31 recovered a green 1994 Honda Accord stolen from the 100 block of South Prospect Avenue at some point between May 29 and 30.
