Blotter: Doggie Door Break-In
The following information was supplied by the Redondo Beach Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

The investigated burglaries—commercial, residential and vehicle—and a couple of car thefts, according to the department's Part I crime recap covering reports received Aug. 30 through Wednesday.
Commercial burglaries
Someone entered a business between 6 and 6:30 p.m. Monday in the 200 block of Avenida del Norte through an unlocked door during business hours and stole a metal safe box from the office.

A thief broke through the locked front door in the 2400 block of Artesia Boulevard early Monday morning using "bodily force" and stole a personal safe, cash and checks.
Someone stole cash from a business in the 1700 block of Catalina Avenue between 7 p.m. Friday and 6 p.m. Saturday. Police are not sure how the burglar got in.

Cash was stolen from a business in the 2400 block of Artesia Boulevard after a thief kicked in the rear door at some point between 10 p.m. Friday and 10:30 a.m. Sunday.
Diana Olivera was arrested on burglary charges in the early evening of Aug. 30. Police believe she walked into a store in the South Bay Galleria and removed property. No loss was reported as the items were recovered.
Residential burglaries
Police aren't sure what, if anything, was stolen from a secured construction site in the 600 block of the Esplanade late Tuesday night. A manhunt with police dogs and a helicopter was launched early Wednesday morning for the burglar; however, nobody was found.
Someone kicked in the "doggie door" between 11:30 a.m. and 3:25 p.m. Friday to a home in the 2600 block of Carnegie Lane. No loss was reported.
A Dell laptop was stolen from the 1900 block of Kingsdale Avenue during the afternoon of Aug. 29. The burglar entered through an unlocked rear sliding glass door.
A safe containing cash, savings bond, paperwork and gift cards was stolen at some point during the workday on Aug. 29 from a home in the 2600 block of Curtis Avenue. The burglar forced the front window to get in.
Vehicle burglaries
An in-dash stereo and navigation system were stolen a 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe parked in the 800 block of Pearl Street at some point between Tuesday night and Wednesday morning. The burglar broke in by punching in the driver's side door lock.
Someone punched in the lock of the driver's side front door of a 1965 Ford F-250 pickup truck at some point on Aug. 1 and stole a toolbox with hand tools. The truck was parked in the 3700 block of Inglewood Avenue.
A purse, Canon digital camera, flash drives, memory cards, cash, cosmetics and mail were stolen Aug. 27 from a 1995 Ford Taurus parked in the 3700 block of Doolittle. The burglar punched in the driver's side door lock.
Someone smashed in the driver's side window of a 2008 Lexus RX350 parked in the 200 block of North Harbor Drive on the morning of Aug. 28. The burglar stole a Coach purse containing cash, a Coach wallet, a checkbook, store cards and paper work, and a cell phone.
Vehicles stolen and/or recovered
On Sunday, Long Beach police recovered a black 2003 Chevrolet Avalanche that was stolen between Aug. 30 and Sunday from the 200 block of Curtis Avenue.
A gray 2004 BMW 525, license No. 5GCT585, was stolen Aug. 28 from a location near the intersection of Catalina Avenue and Avenue C.
The Los Angeles Police Department Wilshire Division on Tuesday recovered a black 1994 Acura Integra stolen from the 100 block of West Torrance Boulevard on July 15.
The LAPD 77th Street Division on Sunday recovered a black 2010 Mercury Mariner stolen from the 1300 block of Carmelita on July 19.
Redondo Beach police found a burgundy 2002 Cadillac Escalade that was reported stolen Aug. 27 from the 4000 block of Inglewood Avenue. Officers found the SUV parked in the 2600 block of Marine Avenue. It had apparently been parked there since Aug. 27.
