Blotter: Stolen Laptops, Nikon Camera

The investigated a robbery and multiple burglaries, and reported the recovery of a motorcycle, according to the department's Part I crime recap covering June 29 through Wednesday.
Commercial robbery
Police are searching for three people—an adult male, a man in his late teens and a woman in her late teens—who walked into an open business in the 4000 block of Inglewood Avenue at the far end of North Redondo Beach and stole items last Saturday. They "used force" when loss prevention officers tried to stop them. The items were recovered, and no loss was reported.

Commercial burglaries
Someone broke into a building on the campus last weekend by smashing a window, police said. The burglar stole two HP laptops and a third laptop of unknown make.

A man named Ralph Lopez was arrested Saturday on suspicion of shoplifting from a business in the 4000 block of Inglewood Avenue. No loss was reported because the items were recovered, police said.
Power tools and other construction equipment were stolen from a classroom at the at some point between 4 p.m. June 28 and 6:15 a.m. June 29, police said. The thief cut a padlock on the construction fencing to get in, then pried open a classroom door and two construction tool boxes to get at the power tools.
Residential burglaries
A thief stole an Electra bike from the 1300 block of Amethyst in South Redondo Beach at some point last weekend. Police don't know how he got in.
Someone managed to break in through a locked window of a house in the 1600 block of Carlson Lane on June 29 and steal an iPad, diamond ring, and a purse containing a wallet.
On June 27, someone smashed a door to break into a house in the 2200 block of Grant Avenue and steal cash.
Vehicle burglary
Someone broke into a 1999 Honda Civic parked in the 100 block of West Torrance Boulevard midday on Monday and stole a Nikon camera, lenses and flash unit; a tripod; and a speaker box.
Recovered vehicle
A 2007 Suzuki Forenza stolen from the 300 block of the Esplanade on June 18 was recovered by the Montebello Police Department on June 19.
