Blotter: Stolen Louis Vuitton, Camera

The following information was supplied by the Redondo Beach and Torrance police departments. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

The investigated a street robbery, multiple burglaries and a car theft this week, according to the department's Part I crime recap covering reports received July 26 through last Wednesday.

The Torrance Police Department reported no crimes in the Hollywood Riviera between July 22 and last Saturday.

A man pushed a woman down on the bike path on Avenue G, and stole her Louis Vuitton purse on the afternoon of July 26. Inside her bag were her wallet and keychain, cash, a Pentax camera and two Objective lenses, a pair of Ray Ban sunglasses, and a Tiffany keychain, police said.

Commercial burglaries

Joseph Nelson III was arrested Tuesday evening on suspicion of burglary. According to police reports, he walked into an open business in the South Bay Galleria and stole handbags and other items. No loss was reported as the items were recovered.

Someone stole a wallet containing credit cards from a room at the Best Western on Pacific Coast Highway in South Redondo Beach sometime July 25. The victim was away from her room at the time.

A trio of shoplifters worked together to hide men's and women's clothing in a bag they brought into one of the shops at the South Bay Galleria on the afternoon of July 24. The three left with the merchandise and without paying. The shoplifters were described as a 6-foot-tall black man weighing about 190 pounds; a 5-foot-6-inch black woman weighing about 125 pounds; and a 5-foot-9-inch black woman weighing about 145 pounds.

Vehicle burglaries

Someone unsuccessfully tried to pry open the passenger door on a 2006 Toyota Camry in the  2900 block of West 190th Street on Sunday night. The car's passenger window was smashed, but no loss was reported.

Cash, a wallet, credit cards, a cell phone and its adapter and holder, and a pair of Maui Jim sunglasses were stolen out of a 2009 Chevrolet Aveo on Sunday morning in the 2100 block of Harriman Lane in North Redondo Beach. Police aren't sure how the burglar got into the car.

Stolen vehicles

A 2007 Chevrolet Silverado pickup was reported stolen from the 200 block of South Catalina Avenue at some point between the night of July 26 and Friday morning. Redondo Beach police recovered the pickup on Tuesday.

A 1990 Honda Accord was reported stolen the afternoon of July 22 from the South Bay Galleria parking lot. Officers from the Inglewood Police Department recovered the vehicle on Saturday.
