Blotter: Vehicle Thefts, Burglaries

The following information was supplied by the Redondo Beach Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

It appears to have been a light week as far as Part I crimes are concerned for the , according to the department's Part I crime recap covering July 12 through Wednesday.

Vehicle burglaries

Porter Hoffman was arrested on suspicion of vehicle burglary after someone stole items out of a 2005 Nissan Quest parked in the 2900 block of Perkins Lane shortly before 5 a.m. Wednesday. No loss was reported as the items were recovered.

Police arrested Daniel McElwain in connection with an attempted vehicle burglary occuring in the 1500 block of Ford Avenue on Tuesday night. Officers believe McElwain tried to get into the 2000 Honda Civic by prying open the driver's window. No loss was reported.

At some point between July 11 and Friday, someone stole credit cards, earrings and a flashlight from a 2005 Toyota Camry parked in the 2000 block of Bataan Road.

Stolen vehicles

A black 1994 Acura Integra with license plate No. 6LWX843 was stolen from the 100 block of West Torrance Boulevard between 11:45 a.m. and 12:45 p.m. Sunday.

Police are searching for a red 1984 Toyota pickup, license plate No. 2K48708, stolen from the 2000 block of Mathews Avenue between 7:30 p.m. July 12 and 6:30 a.m. last Friday.

Los Angeles County Sheriff's deputies from the Century Station on July 12 recovered a Chevrolet Astro van stolen from the 2600 block of Rockefeller Lane between July 10 and 11.

Redondo Beach police recovered a 1993 Honda Accord on July 12. The car was originally stolen from the 2900 block of Inglewood Avenue on July 9 or 10.

On Monday, Inglewood police found a 1988 Toyota pickup stolen from the 2400 block of Harriman Lane on July 8.
