Both men were boating on the lake Wednesday afternoon without wearing life jackets, State Park Superintendent John Rowe told KTLA. One of the men was riding behind the boat on an inflatable tube when it flipped over.

At approximately 4 p.m., authorities received a 911 report about the man falling from the tube who was unable to swim back. The man in the boat jumped into the water to attempt to rescue the other man, but he also began to struggle and both men disappeared, according to reports.
