Carolyn Lininger Recognized for Service

The former employee of the city of Redondo Beach receives Mayor Mike Gin's Lifetime Community Service award.

During his annual State of the City address at the Crowne Plaza on Tuesday morning, Redondo Beach Mayor Mike Gin recognized Carolyn Lininger as the recipient of this year's Mayor's Lifetime Community Service Award.

"She's not one to toot her own horn," said Gin, who added that he almost overlooked her as a candidate because Lininger stays out of the spotlight. Nevertheless, he also added that the award was "overdue."

Lininger received a standing ovation when Gin announced the award.
