El Segundo Fire Department Vehicle Crashes in Torrance, Injuring 1

It's not clear if the injured was a firefighter or why an El Segundo Fire Department vehicle was doing in Torrance.

A crash in Torrance involving a fire department vehicle sent a person to a hospital today.

The crash, involving an El Segundo Fire Department vehicle, was reported just before 2 p.m. at the intersection of Hawthorne and Artesia boulevards, a Torrance Police Department desk officer said.

One person was taken to a hospital, the officer said, but it was unclear if the patient was a firefighter and an update on the victim’s condition was not immediately available.

Traffic was diverted around the intersection following the crash.
