FedEx, SEA Lab Work to Restore Bluffs
Volunteers from FedEx and the L.A. Conservation Corps plant June buckwheat on the Redondo Beach bluffs in hopes of attracting the El Segundo blue butterfly.

Volunteers from FedEx teamed up with L.A. Conservation Corps' on Wednesday to bring June buckwheat back to the bluffs in South Redondo Beach, ABC 7 reported.
According to the report from Bri Winkler, the L.A. Conservation Corps hopes the June buckwheat will attract the El Segundo blue butterfly, an endangered species found only along the coast of the Santa Monica Bay.
The June buckwheat was grown in the SEA Lab's native plant garden.

The conservation project is sponsored by a grant from FedEx and the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation, according to a news release from the L.A. Conservation Corps.
The SEA Lab is also to help remove invasive plant species from the hillside. Volunteer days are scheduled for the last Saturday of every month from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.

This is not the first time FedEx has teamed up with the L.A. Conservation Corps. In January, , new holding tanks and a supply shed, among other activities, at the SEA Lab.
