Finally! Stanley Cup to Visit Redondo
The Stanley Cup will be the centerpiece of a fundraiser for the Kings Care Foundation.

It's been to Hermosa Beach and Manhattan Beach, and on July 25, the Stanley Cup will make its first visit to Redondo Beach as part of a fundraiser for the Los Angeles Kings Care Foundation.
The fundraiser is scheduled for 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the hockey-themed at the corner of Avenue H and Pacific Coast Highway in Riviera Village.
Kings broadcasters Jim Fox and Daryl Evans will escort the cup during its planned visit, which the city found out about Monday, according to City Attorney Mike Webb. Fox and Evans are both residents of Redondo Beach.

For a small donation, Kings fans will be able to take a photo with the Stanley Cup inside the Redondo Beach Cafe, city officials said at Tuesday's city council meeting. Otherwise, fans will be able to check out the cup while it's outside.
"The idea is to give back to the community (and) also provide an opportunity for as many local Redondo Beach residents as possible to be able to view the cup," Webb said.

Because of the cup's popularity—thousands of people attended the rally in Hermosa Beach—the city council authorized using police officers for crowd control and security.
Additionally, the event will involve temporary road closures, City Manager Bill Workman said. The city should have more information available later Wednesday.
The Kings Care Foundation is a nonprofit charitable foundation of the Los Angeles Kings dedicated to providing children in the greater Los Angeles area with more educational opportunities.
