Firefighters on Guard Against Flare Ups at Rancho Dominguez Warehouse Fire

The conflagration destroyed the building Monday night and the cause was under investigation Tuesday.

Firefighters on Tuesday guarded against flareups at the site of a huge blaze that destroyed a warehouse on the border of Carson and the unincorporated Rancho Dominguez area, the Los Angeles County Fire Department reported.

The second alarm fire inside a 15,194-square-foot warehouse at 2082 E. Gladwick St., near Wilmington Avenue, was reported at 9:08 p.m. Monday, with a knockdown declared at 10:32 p.m, said county fire Dispatch Supervisor Kyle Sanford. No injuries were reported.

The department sent 75 to 100 firefighters to battle the fire, with some remaining at the scene Tuesday morning “to do mop-up and stay on fire watch,” Sanford said.

Firefighters managed to keep the flames from spreading to nearby buildings, Sanford said. Several vehicles inside the warehouse also burned in the fire.

It’s unknown how the fire started. The cause of the fire was under investigation Tuesday.
