Free Holiday Light Exhange on Wednesday

Southern California Edison customers can trade for energy-saving LED lights.

The South Bay Environmental Services Center, along with the cities of Torrance and Palos Verdes Estates, will host a free holiday light exchange Wednesday for Southern California Edison customers looking to trade their electricity-guzzling holiday light strands for more energy-efficient LED strands.

According to the SBESC, LED light strands are up to 80% more efficient than typical lights and can last around 100,000 hours.  That translates to about 20 years of life.

Southern California Edison Customers from any South Bay city looking to make the free exchange can bring up to 10 strands of their older inefficient lights and exchange them for 100-count strands of energy-saving multicolored LED lights.  Strands of any color and any bulb count will be accepted at the exchange.
