Officers detained and arrested the people in the car, who were identified as suspects by the victim and a witness, police said.

"Cash was reunited with her owner who is recovering from minor injuries sustained as a result of the robbery," Valdivia said.

The incident follows several recent reported dog robberies, including Lady Gaga's two French Bulldogs in Hollywood that were taken during an armed robbery that left her dog walker shot and injured, a recent armed puppy robbery in Venice Beach and an ongoing search for a missing French Bulldog named Melo who has been seen along the Venice Beach boardwalk but still hasn't been returned to its owner.
