Gas Prices Remain Steady

The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County fell two-tenths of a cent today to $3.867, one day after increasing by two-tenths of a cent.

The average price is four-tenths of a cent less than one week ago, but 2.2 cents greater than a month ago and 75.6 cents more than at this time last year, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.

"It seems that gas prices are holding steady right now, even though West Texas Intermediate crude oil prices have increased in recent days," Jeff Spring of the Automobile Club of Southern California told City News Service.

"Continued high prices for Brent and Alaskan crude and California refinery exports overseas seem to prevent our gasoline prices from decreasing further."
